About Robert Cohen

Robert (Bob) Cohen: As the CEO, he has a very diverse background, both in computing as well as Digital Imaging and Photography.

During his sophomore year in High School, he apprenticed with a Master Photographer in New York to gain more incite into his passion for the art of photography. He shot his first commercial catalog at the age of 17 for his Uncle who was co-owner of Botel Rings in Manhattan, NY. He joined the Navy in November of 1967 as a Photographer.  After Basic Training at Great Lakes, Illinois, he was assigned to the Navy Combat Camera Group. While there, he was asked if he would like to be assigned to the Elite Navy SEAL Teams as a combat photographer. He wasn't sure if he met all of the physical qualifications for the assignment, even though he was under heavy physical training during his junior and senior years in high school as he was not a runner.

He was accepted for the SEAL Team temporary assignment and started his physical training with them and completed the minimum required 16 weeks of training for non-SEAL members of the normal 26 weeks of full SEAL Team Training training (B.U.D.S.- Basic Underwater Demolition School).

Being that he was not considered a real Navy SEAL by their standards, he still was able to be assigned missions to Vietnam with the teams and was able to keep up with them on every mission he went on. The Teams soon found out that he was an expert marksman in that he had gotten into situations where the Teams needed someone who was able to shoot as a sniper. When he volunteered for this, they were surprised because he was never designated a full fledged Navy SEAL. He proved time and time again that he was a better shot than everyone else on the Teams so he was consistently given missions during his tours to Vietnam.

Once he was out of the Teams and returned to normal duty, he was assigned to RVAH-12, a Navy Reconnaissance Heavy Attack Squadron originally based out of Albany, Georgia but then all the Heavies moved to NAS Key West, FL as their permanent home. Because of his aptitude of electronics, he was sent to school to repair the Aerial Photographic Systems and then the actual test bench repair school at Chicago Aerial. Here is where he got his first taste of working on computers as the bench's primary system was using a DEC PDP-11 computer (punch tape programming).  This was in 1976 and has been working on computers ever since.
